Early Pregnancy Scan

The Early Pregnancy scan, or Viability scan, is intended to provide early reassurance about your pregnancy.

It is offered by our experts in our scanning suite housed in our clinic, conveniently located in West London. You can choose to have your scan conducted by our Senior Sonographers or specialist Fetal Medicine Specialists.

This scan will help detect the following:

• Location of the pregnancy, ensuring that the pregnancy has correctly implanted within the womb (or uterus)
• Size of the pregnancy is consistent with the estimated gestation
• Visualising your baby’s heartbeat

The ultrasound scan will also determine if the pregnancy is single or multiple (i.e. a twin pregnancy), and provides an overall assessment for any abnormalities if you are experiencing any concerning symptoms such as bleeding.

The Early Pregnancy scan provides an estimate of your due date, which allows you to then schedule in the screening tests for 1^st trimester and embark on your pregnancy journey with confidence and increased certainty.

Please note this is an internal or transvaginal scan, and we can provide a complimentary chaperone if requested.

This scan typically takes 30 minutes and is £200.
