It’s an opportunity to discuss your medical history, lifestyle, and any specific risk factors – with personalised guidance from a specialist Obstetrician who understands how these factors can influence your fertility, pregnancy and birth.

Whether this is your first pregnancy or you have experienced challenges before, this appointment helps you plan your next steps with clarity and confidence.

What to Expect

Your consultation with Mr Jakes includes a comprehensive review and discussion tailored to you, which may cover:

• Medical, surgical and family history
• Current medications, supplements and vaccinations
• Nutrition, exercise and lifestyle optimisation
• Review of any previous pregnancies, miscarriages or complications
• Screening for conditions that can affect pregnancy (e.g. thyroid, diabetes, hypertension)
• Discussion of genetic or infectious disease testing if indicated
• Planning around pre-existing medical conditions such as autoimmune, cardiac or endocrine disorders

It may be recommended that you have blood tests to help with this assessment, which can be performed at the clinic.
