Dr Spyros Bakalis is a highly proficient Consultant in Obstetrics and Sub-specialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. With almost 20 years of experience delivering maternity services at London’s largest maternity departments, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the Westminster Women’s Clinic team with an emphasis on high risk pregnancies.
Having graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ medical school, Spyros carried out his research at King’s College London, where he was trained in fetal medicine scanning. He then completed his subspecialty training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at University College London Hospital.
During his medical career, Spyros has published extensively in some of the world’s leading medical journals.
His current NHS post includes being the Lead Obstetrician for the Maternal Cardiac Clinic, and Fetal Medicine specialist scanning clinics. Spyros also is College Tutor with his passion for pastoral care and medical education.
He is an advocate for supporting women’s choices in pregnancy and childbirth and provides bespoke birth and maternity care packages and offers specialist private pregnancy scans at Westminster Women’s Clinic.
